Plants can absorb additives and nutrients through either the stomata as well as through their waxy cuticle layer. That is why it is important to spray both sides of the leaves for better absorption. Although most additives get absorbed through the stomata they also can make it in through the rest of the leaf tissue as well. Under most conditions, stomata open in the morning, when the light strikes the leaf at the beginning of their daytime and close at night at the end of their day during their dark period.
Water is the main diluent used in agricultural sprays. Because of the high surface tension of water, agrochemical spray droplets can maintain their roundness and sit on the leaf hairs or waxy surface without getting much in contact of the leaf. Additives such as Wetter/Spreaders are required to be used with agrochemicals to help uniform spreading and penetration of the waxy cuticle of a leaf. The primary purpose of a wetter / spreader is to reduce the surface tension of the spray solution to allow more intimate contact between the spray droplet and the plant surface. They may also change permeability of the leaf surface.
BIOWET-T is a spray tank adjuvant offered for agriculture and related applications. Spray tank adjuvants usually are added to the spray tank at the time of mixing. They are meant to complement the formulation adjuvants (inert ingredients in the agrochemical formulation). Spray tank adjuvants represent diverse and complex chemical types and improve the spray performance such as spreading, sticking, penetrating, etc.
BIOWET-T offered by Biomax is a high power wetting Agent. BIOWET-T is a new generation spreader sticker that helps to reduce the water tension of spray solutions so that insecticides and fungicides applications have an increased chance of direct contact with the pest or pathogen. It is a multi-purpose spray adjuvant to enhance the performance and efficacy of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, miticides, fertilizers and other agricultural chemicals.
BIOWET-T improves and promotes wetting, sticking and contact/depositing activity of the agrochemicals sprayed. BIOWET-T helps to stick and spread on all plant parts not allowing the solution to wash out in rains. It provides more uniform spray deposit on plant surface thereby improving coverage making the spray more effective. When tank mixing agricultural chemicals, BIOWET-T promotes compatibility and reduces drift. It is suitable for mostly all sprayers. BIOWET-T is non-toxic non-corrosive, non-flammable and environmentally safe.
BIOWET-T will not damage the cuticle layer of the plant’s leaves. It will make the water molecules “wetter,” spreading them apart from one another; preventing “blotching” or grouping together of water spots. This blotching of water molecules otherwise creates a magnifying glass effect which when intense light hits it can in turn burn your leaves.
BIOWET-T if properly applied can increase efficacy of the agrochemicals being sprayed. This allows reduced consumption of the agrochemicals. It also helps to overcome adverse effects on environment; minimize loss via evaporation and drift; lessen environmental hazards; and improve economic returns.
